Solution for injection

For use as an aid in the treatment of parturient paresis and eclampsia in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, dogs and cats. 


Calcemag is used for the prevention of metabolic disorders (hypocalcemia, ketosis, osteomalacia, rickets), prenatal and postpartum paraplegia, retained placenta, as a desensitizing and antitoxic agent, as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of inflammatory and exudative processes (endometritis, mastitis, infected wounds, hepatic disease, pneumonia, septicaemia). 


Calcemag is also indicated in the case of poisoning by salts of oxalic, fluoric acids (when interacting with calcium ions, non-dissociating and non-toxic calcium oxalate and calcium fluoride are formed) and heavy metals (mercury, arsenic, lead).

Dosage and administration

For slow intravenous infusion, intraperitoneal or intramuscular injection 1-2 times a day at equal intervals for 2-3 days.

- Cattle: 150-300 ml per animal administered by slow intravenous bolus injection. The preventive dose is 150-200 ml per animal administered twice 50-60 days and 10-15 days before the expected calving.

- Calves, sheep, goats: 0,5-1 ml per kg body weight administered by slow intravenous drip infusion or intraperitoneal injection.

- Horses: 150-250 ml per animal administered by slow intravenous bolus injection.

- Pigs: 0,5-1 ml per 1 kg body weight administered by intramuscular or intraperitoneal injection. In the case of intramuscular administration, the volume administered per one site should not exceed 10 ml. 

- Dogs, cats: 0,3-0,5 ml per kg body weight administered by slow intravenous drip infusion, or by intraperitoneal, intramuscular injection. In the case of intramuscular administration, the volume administered per one site should not exceed 10 ml.

Before intravenous infusion, the product must be warmed to body temperature. Use only dry syringes and needles.

Shelf life

Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 2 years.
Once broached, use immediately.
Do not use this veterinary product after the expiry date which is stated on the label. 


Storage conditions

Store in the original package between 5°C to 25°C, protected from light and moisture.
