Mastivin

300 mg Rifampicin / 150 mg Gentamicin sulphate / 200 mg Methyluracil
Intramammary suspension for cows

For the treatment of clinical and subclinical mastitis in lactating cows caused by bacteria sensitive to rifampicin and gentamicin.

Rifampicin and gentamicin act synergistically and provide broad antimicrobial activity. Ingredients of Mastivin are effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria causing mastitis and promote regeneration of damaged tissues.
Rifampicin is a semisynthetic antibiotic from the class of anzamycins. It is active against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus spp. including methicillin-resistant strains, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, some Gram-negative microorganisms (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., including beta-lactamase-producing bacteria), Haemophilus influenzae (including microorganisms resistant to ampicillin and chloramphenicol), Listeria monocytogenes and other anaerobes.
Gentamicin sulphate is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic from the class of aminoglycosides. The following Gram-negative microorganisms are highly susceptible to gentamicin: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas spp. (including Pseudomonas aeruginosa), Acinetobacter spp., Proteus spp. (including indole-positive and indole-negative strains), Campylobacter spp.; Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (including penicillin-resistant bacteria).
Methyluracil is a hematopoietic, leukopoietic, immunostimulating, anti-inflammatory agent with anabolic properties. Methyluracil normalizes nucleic metabolism, accelerates wound healing, increases tissue granulation and epithelization (including fast proliferating mucous cells), accelerates leuko- and erythropoiesis, which stimulates humoral and cellular defense factors.
