Xymast

0,3 g Dimethyl sulfoxide + 0,03 g Potassium iodide 
Ointment

- For monotherapy of latent and serous bovine mastitis.
- For the treatment of catarrhal, purulent-catarrhal mastitis with appropriate antibiotic therapy.
- For use in musculoskeletal system Inflammation, purulent-necrotic pododermatitis, bruises, traumatic infiltrates, inflammatory edema, purulent wounds, abscesses, bursitis, synovitis, tendinitis and phlegmonous processes therapy in farm animals.

Dimethyl sulfoxide and potassium iodide have several therapeutic properties beneficial especially for the mastitis treatment. The ointment has anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, anesthetic, healing, bactericidal, protective and softening effects. Xymast prevents skin infection and promotes faster healing of cracks, scratches, minor burns and wounds.
Dimethyl sulfoxide exhibits anti-inflammatory and high antioxidant activity, helps relieve pain, promotes skin regeneration by topical stimulation of immunity and has trophic effect on mammary glands. Dimethyl sulfoxide is a skin penetrant with the ability to carry other substances through membranes. It increases susceptibility of bacteria to antibiotics, has fungistatic action against Candida albicans and bacteriostatic action against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 
Topical potassium iodine exhibits antifungal, antimicrobial and proteolytic activities.
Xymast is non-toxic, causes no irritation or allergy, can be used for a long time.

Application

For external use. Xymast tends to become inhomogeneous and requires stirring before use.
Mastitis: 20-30 g of the ointment should be applied evenly to the each affected udder area and rubbed in gently twice daily every 12 hours after milking. Acute mastitis treatment duration should be 7 days and in the case of chronic mastitis – 14 days. Repeat in 2 weeks, if necessary. In antimicrobial therapy, Xymast reduces the probability of developing drug resistance in microflora and pathogenic fungi.
inflammatory processes and traumatic injury: apply the ointment on the affected area two to three times a day up to recovery or dress the wound in a bandage soaked in the ointment. Refresh bandage one to two times daily.
