Amclomast DC

mastitis control during the dry period

Prevention and treatment (one-step drying off) of mastitis caused by bacteria sensitive to the active ingredients in cows at drying off.
Amclomast DC is a combination of semi-synthetic penicillins (ampicillin and cloxacillin) which are highly active against most mastitis causing pathogens including penicillin-resistant strains. It provides an extended spectrum of efficacy against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria (Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacterium pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas spp., etc.). Cloxacillin is also active against beta-lactamase–producing strains.
The formulation inhibits peptidoglycan synthesis (bacterial cell wall synthesis). Special base and salts of the antibiotics provide prolonged bactericidal effect in the mammary gland and surrounding tissues for a 45-49 days period following Amclomast DC administration. Due to excipients structure the medication penetrates quickly the mammary gland. Amclomast DC has no irritating effect on the udder parenchyma.

Active ingredients

Each syringe (5 g) contains cloxacillin (as benzathine salt) 600 mg, ampicillin trihydrate 300 mg, excipients (aluminum stearate) and an oil base.

Dosage and administration

Infuse the contents of 1 syringe (5 g) into each infected quarter (or healthy quarter for prophylaxis) following the last milking before the dry period. Before use, milk the udder completely out. Care must be taken not to introduce infection into the udder. Clean the teat thoroughly with a teat wipe and allow to dry. Remove the cap from the end of the nozzle of the syringe, insert the nozzle carefully into the opening of the teat, and infuse the full contents of the syringe slowly into the teat canal. Gently massage the quarter to disperse the suspension upwards. If ambient temperature is low, warm up the medication in a water bath (36°С - 39°С) before use.

Withdrawal period

Any animal treated with Amclomast DC must not be slaughtered for food until 30 days after the last infusion.
Withdrawal period for milk is 50 days after the last administration. In case of calving earlier than set period (50 days), milk (colostrum) can be used for young animal feed after boiling.

Syringe (injector) of 5 g.
