Metriton is used in the complex treatment of postpartum endometritis in cows and mastitis-metritis-agalactia (MMA) syndrome in sows, it is indicated for stimulation of uterine contraction to facilitate parturition, uterine hypotonia, the passage of retained placenta, uterine subinvolution, increase in conception rates, embryo recovery from donor cows.
Propranolol hydrochloride is a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent. In the myometrium, it contributes to the manifestation of the endogenous oxytocin activity and following increased smooth muscle contraction in the uterus and mammary glands. Like other beta-adrenergic antagonists, propranolol competes with adrenergic neurotransmitters (e.g., catecholamines) for binding at sympathetic receptor sites.

Dosage and administration	For intramuscular, intravenous injection. Cows: 5 ml per animal: - stimulation of uterine contraction to facilitate parturition and prevention of postpartum complications: administer a single dose on the day of parturition. - complex prevention of obstetric-gynecological diseases: administer the recommended dose on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th day after parturition. - retained placenta: administer the dose 3 times every 12 hours. - subinvolution or postpartum endometritis: administer the dose combined with other veterinary medicinal products 3 times every 12 hours. Cows: 2,5 ml per animal: - increase in conception rates after artificial insemination: single dose 20-30 minutes before the insemination. - embryo recovery from donor cows: single dose 10-15 minutes before the embryo collection. Sows: - control of farrowing and prevention of postpartum complications: 2,5 ml per animal on the day of farrowing. - complex treatment of mastitis-metritis-agalactia (MMA) syndrome: 5 ml per animal 3 times every 24 hours. - prevention of mastitis-metritis-agalactia (MMA) syndrome: 2,5-5 ml per animal right after the farrowing. If one or more doses are missed continue with the recommended dosage schedule and in the normal amount. Do not administer a double dose.
Withdrawal period	Meat/Milk: zero days/hours.
Presentation	Metriton is marketed in glass bottles closed with bromobutyl rubber stoppers and sealed with aluminium caps Pack size: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 250, 400, 450, 500, 1000 ml.
Shelf life	Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 2 years. Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: 14 days. Do not use this veterinary product after the expiry date which is stated on the label.
Storage conditions	Store in the original package between 5° to 25°C, protected from light and moisture.
