Following intramuscular administration, marbofloxacin is rapidly absorbed and extensively distributed to most tissues and organs of the body reaching peak blood concentrations in 30-90 minutes and remains within the therapeutic range for 48 hours. Its bioavailability is close to 100%. It is weakly bound to plasma proteins (less than 10% in pigs, and 30% in cattle). Marbofloxacin has an initial half-life of 5-9 hours in calves and 8-10 hours in pigs. Following intramuscular administration, ketoprofen is rapidly absorbed and extensively distributed to blood and most organs of the body reaching peak blood concentrations in 30-40 minutes. Ketoprofen binds extensively to plasma proteins (>98%). It reaches high concentrations in inflamed tissue. Ketoprofen undergoes metabolism in the liver via conjugation with glucuronic acid (glucuronidation). It has an initial half-life of 2 hours. Ketoprofen is excreted mainly in the urine.
The veterinary medicinal product is eliminated mainly via the urine (80-90%) and faeces.
